Terms like exceptional, outstanding and perfection can be overused, but when they’re used appropriately, they capture something quite extraordinary. Taking it up another level, the soon to be opened Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau is billing itself as ‘beyond legendary’. It might sound like hyperbole, but we’ve been involved with the project and concur. This is a project that is redefining excellence in hospitality.

Truly remarkable

The resort comprises three separate luxury hotels with around 2,000 rooms. Retail space amounts to 34,000 square feet. Diners will have access to 36,000 square feet of restaurant and entertainment space. For those who love casinos, there’s an impressive 27,000 square feet of gaming space. The numbers are huge but there’s more to this development than scale. Luxury, style, world-class brands, entertainment, wedding and events, cuisine – everything from the décor of an individual room to the spa facilities will be remarkable.

Going back to those numbers, it’s clear that this project required security and access systems that could reach the development’s singular standards. But our experience of large scale, complex projects – and our track record of success in hospitality and various other sectors – gave the client confidence that our team and our products were up to the challenge.

There was a level of complexity in the security and access specification that many masterkey systems could not possibly deliver, but we knew that our Tigris® Premier 3 would prove an effective solution. It’s a cylinder system which offers multi-profile patented key security. The cylinders are anti-pick and include drill protection to the body and plug as standard. The key and cylinder profiles include a triple undercut “branch groove” that makes illegal key duplication and manipulation of the cylinder virtually impossible.

Naturally, the commitment to the highest possible standards meant that we had to ensure pristine quality – not an issue with Tigris® Premier 3. We have developed a reliable multi colour-match capability, but we also had to handle the client’s requirement for a variety of unique, high-end finishes. Because we’re also equipped to handle such requests, delivering this wasn’t an issue.
